Dentsply DeTrey Conditioner Etching & Dentin Conditioning
Dentsply DeTrey Conditioner 36 is a blue-tinted etching gel containing 36% phosphoric acid, specifically formulated for effective enamel etching and dentine conditioning prior to bonding with resin-based restorative materials.
Its controlled viscosity ensures precise placement, while the blue color enhances visibility during application. DeTrey Conditioner 36 supports reliable adhesion in both enamel etch and total etch techniques used with composite and compomer restorations.

Directions to Use
1. Cleaning
- Clean unprepared enamel with a rubber cup and pumice or a cleaning paste such as Nupro® Prophylaxis Paste
- Rinse thoroughly with water spray and air-dry
- Clean freshly cut enamel and dentine with water spray and then air-dry
2. Acid Conditioning of Enamel and Dentine (Total Etch Technique)
- Remove the cap from the syringe and attach a disposable needle tip securely
- Gently extrude the gel directly onto the surfaces to be treated
- The needle tip may be bent for easier access
- Apply DeTrey Conditioner 36 to cavity surfaces, starting at enamel margins
- Condition enamel for at least 15 seconds and dentine for 15 seconds or less
- Discard the needle after use to prevent clogging and replace the original cap
3. Rinsing and Drying
- Remove gel using an aspirator and/or vigorous water spray
- Rinse conditioned areas thoroughly for at least 15 seconds
- Proceed according to the instructions of the adhesive system being used
- Keep treated surfaces uncontaminated after conditioning
- If salivary contamination occurs, rinse thoroughly, dry, and recondition enamel for 5 seconds only
- Rinse again and continue with the adhesive procedure
