DMG LuxaForm

DMG LuxaForm is a thermoplastic molding polymer designed for quick and efficient impressions used in the fabrication of temporary restorations. It is one of the easiest and most time-saving thermoplastic impression materials available for provisional dentistry.

LuxaForm tablets are simply warmed in hot water until soft and transparent, then shaped directly around the teeth to be restored. No mixing, no trays, and no complex steps are required, making it ideal for fast chairside workflows.

Directions to Use

Important Handling Notes

• LuxaForm sticks to gloves; always knead without gloves
• For intraoral use, isolate gloved fingertips with Vaseline
• Do not model LuxaForm too tightly around teeth
• Block out undercuts with wax or an appropriate agent
• Do not take impressions of more than 5 teeth at a time
• Post-processing can be done with a scalpel if required

Recommended Use

• Place one LuxaForm tablet per tooth into hot water (approx. 70°C / 158°F) until the material becomes soft and transparent (about 1 minute)
• For multiple teeth, use additional tablets and knead together once transparent
• Shape the softened material into a cube and press it around the teeth to be molded
• Allow the material to cool; it will harden and turn opaque blue (cooling can be accelerated with water spray)
• Remove the hardened LuxaForm impression and lightly coat with Vaseline or a separating agent
• Apply temporary crown and bridge material (e.g. Luxatemp Star) as per manufacturer’s instructions
