Ivoclar Politip

Ivoclar Politip is a standard two-step polishing system from Ivoclar Vivadent designed for finishing, polishing, and high-gloss polishing of composite and amalgam restorations. The system delivers reliable, efficient results with proven clinical performance.

Politip is available in three shapes to suit different clinical situations, making it ideal for both interdental and occlusal applications.

System Components

• Politip F (Finish): Used for removal of excess material and pre-polishing
• Politip P (Polish): Used for polishing restoration surfaces to achieve a smooth, high-gloss finish; delivers excellent results on microfilled composites

Key Specifications

• Recommended rotary speed: 7,500 – 10,000 rpm
• Use with copious water spray (> 50 ml/min)
• No polishing paste required
• Autoclave sterilization at 135 °C / 275 °F

Directions for Use

• Step 1 – Finishing: Use Politip F (grey) to remove excess material and smooth restoration surfaces
• Step 2 – Polishing: Use Politip P (green) to polish the restoration to a high-gloss finish
