Ivoclar Vivadent IPS Empress Direct is a premium light-curing composite system developed for highly esthetic direct restorations. Natural-looking results are achieved effortlessly through a wide range of shades and translucency levels that follow the anatomical structure of natural teeth.

The intuitive shade concept allows clinicians to reproduce dentin, enamel, and incisal characteristics with ease. IPS Empress Direct offers convenient handling, excellent polishability, and lifelike optical properties, making it an ideal choice for demanding anterior and posterior restorations.

• Opaque dentin shades (13): For dentin build-up, mamelon effects, and cervical restorations
• Translucent enamel shades (16): For enamel replacement

• Additives, initiators, stabilizers, pigments: < 1.0 wt%
• Total inorganic filler content: 75–79 wt% (52–59 vol%)

Storage

• Storage temperature: 2–28 °C / 36–82 °F
• Close syringes or Cavifils immediately after use
• Avoid light exposure to prevent premature polymerization
• Do not use after expiration date

Directions for Use

• Step 1: Clean teeth prior to shade selection
• Step 2: Perform adequate isolation
• Step 3: Prepare the cavity following adhesive principles; bevel anterior enamel edges if required
• Step 4: Apply pulp protection only in deep cavities near the pulp
• Step 5: Place matrix band and interdental wedge if required
• Step 6: Apply enamel/dentin bonding agent according to manufacturer instructions
• Step 7: Apply IPS Empress Direct in layers of max. 2 mm (1.5 mm for dentin shades) and light-cure adequately
• Step 8: Finish and remove excess material using appropriate instruments
• Step 9: Check occlusion and articulation; polish to a durable high gloss
