API Optical Plier is a precision orthodontic instrument designed for creating helical closing loops, contouring archwires, torqueing, and placing stops in orthodontic appliances. Its ergonomic, lightweight design ensures easy grip, reduces stress on the fingers, and provides excellent control during wire adjustments and appliance placement.

Made from high-grade stainless steel, the plier retains its shape, offers durability, corrosion resistance, and is autoclavable for safe repeated clinical use. It is suitable for wires up to 0.022″ x 0.025″ (.56 mm x .64 mm) and can also bend metal strips used in orthodontic work.

Maintenance Instructions

• Clean after every use with warm water to remove blood, tissue, and mucus
• Ultrasonic cleaning recommended, especially for articulated instruments
• Use only standard, reputable disinfectant solutions

Sterilization

• Do not exceed 120°C for standard sterilization
• Dry heat sterilization should not exceed 180°C; avoid prolonged exposure to prevent discoloration and loss of temper
• Avoid substandard chemicals or highly acidic chlorine-containing agents
• Use demineralized water only
• Never clean with a metal brush
